Arbi patra leaves are the large, heart-shaped leaves of the Colocasia (Taro) plant, a popular green vegetable in India used to make traditional snacks like Patra (or Alu Vadi), where they are coated with spiced gram flour batter, rolled, steamed, and then fried or tempered until crispy, offering a tangy, savory flavor and good source of vitamins.

It is advisable to soak the leaves overnight in water and cook it thoroughly to neutralize naturally occurring calcium oxalate crystals
